The Rogowski Coil current sensor is suitable for measuring wide range alternating currents (AC) and/ or fluctuating DC current pulses. The sensor operates on the principle that a voltage is induced in a coil whose plane is perpendicular to the conductor carrying the electrical current and perpendicular to the magnetic flux. The induced voltage is proportional to the rate of change of the current in the conductor. Integrating the resulting voltage signal (integral of dv/dt) provides a measurement of the current in the conductor. Suitable for incorporation into products used for electric power measurement, electric power quality monitoring, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) or protective relays. The Rogowski Coil current sensor is ideal in applications where it is necessary that the sensor be capable of responding to a wide operating current range, a wide frequency range and/ or is exposed to harsh operating conditions.
